The Golden Age of Music Videos

MTV didn’t always equal 24 hours of reality shows. In the early 80s , MTV ushered in a golden age of music videos and by decades end, the format became a legitimate art form. Now sites like Vevo and Youtube have taken over the music video business and we are in the midst of a renaissance of sorts with well-crafted music videos that are stretching the boundaries of what is considered a music video.

This week we take a look back at the decade that cemented the music video into the popular consciousness with what we consider the best music videos of the 80s. Don’t worry we will try to resist the temptation to Rickroll. Nah, just kidding.
